living in now

self programming

tell yourself good things

why does this work?

why do you actually need to tell yourself these things?

because your subconscious doesn’t know

how to judge what’s true or false, real or delusion.

you tell yourself constantly

that it’s hopeless

that you don’t know

if you will get through this

or even that you won’t

that you’re not ok

that you’re never going to be ok

now think about how you feel

the fear, anxiety, even

extreme vigilance, guardedness

that you live in all the time

the stress internalized, sublimated

into your body

your shoulders, your neck

or your stomach, your head(ache)

your subconscious self

takes all of those things you tell it

as the absolute truth

and tries to cope, live

in the reality you’re painting

connect with reality

Bill Murray on being present:

“Just try to feel your own weight, in your own seat, in your own feet. Okay? So if you can feel that weight in your body, if you can come back into the most personal identification, a very personal identification, which is: I am. This is me now. Here I am, right now. This is me now. Then you don’t feel like you have to leave, and be over there, or look over there. You don’t feel like you have to rush off and be somewhere.”

Aging Gracefully

when you lose your center

when you’re in your feelings

when you’re chasing the rabbits

when you’re beside yourself

when you’re in your head

breathe

in through your nose

for five seconds

out through your mouth

for five seconds

over and over

re-read this blog

re-center

re-ground

get out of your head

and into your body

and connect with physical reality

as quickly as possible
